• What's New From Lutron

New Lutron Lighting for Hamptons and Manhattan Estates

CEDIA Expo 2026 made one direction unusually clear: Lutron is moving farther beyond control and deeper into the fixtures, fabrics, and architectural details that shape how a home actually feels. For clients planning a new residence or major renovation, that matters because lighting, shading, and exterior illumination can now be designed as a more unified system from the beginning.

Three announcements stand out for Hamptons and Manhattan projects: Orluna expands Lutron's architectural fixture family, Palladiom Drapery brings automated window treatment into a more decorative form, and VIA extends native intelligent lighting outdoors. As a CEDIA-certified dealer specializing in Lutron lighting control and serving Southampton, East Hampton, Bridgehampton, and Manhattan since 2004, HTE looks at each release through a practical lens: where it belongs, when to specify it, and whether it improves the architecture rather than simply adding more technology.

What Lutron Actually Announced at CEDIA 2026

Orluna architectural downlight, part of Lutron intelligent lighting for Hamptons and Manhattan homes

Orluna Intelligent Lighting

Lutron's 2025 acquisition of the UK's Orluna reaches North America with downlights, monopoint and pendant cylinders, and path lighting. The larger story is continuity: the fixture becomes part of the same intelligent lighting ecosystem instead of a separate decorative decision made after controls are designed.

Why it matters: For a new-build or major renovation, Orluna gives the design team another way to coordinate fixture aesthetics, dimming behavior, and color consistency from the start.

Opens for order early 2027

Lutron Palladiom Drapery ripple fold automated window treatment

Palladiom Drapery

Palladiom Drapery combines the visual language of a traditional drapery rod with Lutron's quiet automated track. Four end treatments, including an exclusive finial set with Swarovski crystals, move motorized window treatment from something that disappears into a pocket to something that can intentionally become part of the room.

Why it matters: It creates a more decorative counterpart to Palladiom motorized shading when a designer wants fabric and hardware to remain visible rather than concealed.

Lutron VIA outdoor path light with Coastal Source for Hamptons landscape lighting

VIA Outdoor Lighting

Built with Coastal Source through Lutron's Native by Design program, VIA brings Ketra and Rania light engines outdoors in solid brass fixtures engineered for the landscape. That makes outdoor light part of the Lutron system itself rather than a separate layer controlled by a parallel platform.

Why it matters: Exterior scenes, color temperature, and control can be considered with the house from the beginning—particularly compelling for Hamptons properties where indoor and outdoor living are designed as one experience.

Pre-order open, shipping this fall

The common thread is bigger than any one product launch.

Lighting is becoming part of the home's infrastructure: planned with the architecture, coordinated with shading, and commissioned as one experience.
Home Technology Experts

That is why Native by Design matters. The program is less about placing a Lutron badge on more fixtures and more about eliminating the seams between decorative lighting, architectural lighting, controls, and the scenes clients use every day.

• Native By Design

New Fixture Partners Joining Lutron Intelligent Lighting

For architects and interior designers, Native by Design is one of the more consequential parts of Lutron's strategy. Rather than asking a decorative fixture to behave well with a control system after the fact, participating manufacturers can build Lutron Intelligent Lighting directly into the product. The result is a broader palette of pieces that can look highly individual while behaving consistently within the home.

• What We Would Specify Now

How These CEDIA 2026 Releases Fit a Hamptons or Manhattan Project

Not every announcement belongs in every project, and timing matters. Our preference is to separate products that can be confidently designed around today from products that should simply influence infrastructure and fixture planning until ordering opens.

Specify now

Palladiom Drapery

For rooms where visible drapery hardware is part of the interior design, Palladiom Drapery can be incorporated into the window-treatment package now and coordinated with Lutron shading, keypads, and scenes.

Design around now

VIA Outdoor Lighting

For exterior projects moving into design, VIA is worth considering early so fixture locations, power, controls, and the relationship between indoor and outdoor scenes are resolved before the landscape is finished.

Plan for 2027

Orluna

For projects with a 2027 fixture schedule, Orluna may deserve a place in the architectural lighting conversation now. For projects installing sooner, we would avoid forcing a release timeline and instead design around proven currently available options.

Lutron's Newest Systems, Installed by a Team You Already Know

A new product is only useful when it fits the architecture, construction schedule, wiring plan, control strategy, and the way the client wants to live. Our role is to translate releases like Orluna, VIA, and Palladiom Drapery into those decisions—not simply to specify the newest thing. HTE has served the Hamptons and Manhattan since 2004, and our Southampton Experience Center lets clients and design teams evaluate Lutron lighting and shading in the context of the whole home.

• The HTE Perspective

The best lighting technology disappears into the architecture.

That is the filter we apply to every new release: does it simplify the experience, improve the quality of light, and give the architect or designer more freedom without making the home feel more technical?

• Questions We're Getting

New Lutron Lighting, Answered

What did Lutron introduce at CEDIA Expo 2026?

Lutron's CEDIA Expo 2026 story extends well beyond lighting control. The major announcements on this page include Orluna architectural lighting, Palladiom Drapery, the VIA outdoor lighting platform created with Coastal Source, the Ethos fabric collection, Palladiom USB-C receptacles, and additional Native by Design fixture partners. For homeowners and design teams, the larger theme is tighter integration between the visible design elements of a room and the intelligent lighting and shading system behind them.

What is Orluna, and when is it available?

Orluna is a UK-based architectural lighting brand that Lutron acquired in 2025. Its range includes downlights, monopoint and pendant cylinders, and path lighting. Ordering is expected to open in early 2027. For projects with a 2027 fixture schedule, that makes Orluna worth discussing during design now; for faster construction schedules, HTE would evaluate currently available intelligent-lighting options rather than forcing the project around a future release date.

What is Lutron's VIA outdoor lighting platform?

VIA is Lutron's first native outdoor intelligent lighting platform, developed with Coastal Source through the Native by Design program. It brings Ketra and Rania light engines into solid brass landscape fixtures with Lutron control, tunable white, and color. The practical advantage is coordination: exterior lighting can be considered as part of the same lighting experience as the residence instead of being treated as a completely separate system after the architecture is finished.

Does HTE install Lutron's new Palladiom Drapery?

Yes. Palladiom Drapery is available to order now and combines the look of a traditional drapery rod with Lutron's automated track. Four end treatments include an exclusive finial option set with Swarovski crystals. It is especially relevant in rooms where the designer wants the drapery hardware to be visible and intentional, rather than hiding the entire motorized treatment in an architectural pocket. HTE can coordinate it with other Lutron shading, keypads, and scenes.

Can Lutron lighting be controlled with Sonos voice commands?

Yes. Sonos Voice Control for Lutron is available now and can be used to control compatible Lutron lights, shades, and scenes with simple "Hey Sonos" commands. We generally treat voice as a convenient secondary interface rather than the foundation of the system: keypads and well-programmed scenes remain the dependable everyday controls, while voice is useful when your hands are full or you want to make a quick adjustment without reaching for a keypad or phone.

How do I bring these new Lutron products into my Hamptons or Manhattan home?

Start with a consultation with HTE. We will look at the construction schedule, lighting and shading plans, interior-design intent, and the control system as one package. Some of the 2026 releases can be specified immediately; others may be more useful as planning inputs for projects completing in 2027. The goal is not to put every new product into the house—it is to select the pieces that genuinely make the finished experience better.
