VIA Intelligent Outdoor Lighting combines Lutron’s intelligent Ketra or Rania light sources with solid-brass Coastal Source fixtures made for outdoor exposure. HTE can make those fixtures part of a carefully planned landscape lighting design, then coordinate them with the home’s Lutron lighting control system and, where appropriate, a broader Control4 smart home.
The result is not technology added for effect. It is an outdoor environment that can become warmer, quieter, clearer, or more expressive as the evening changes.

VIA is natively designed around Lutron intelligent lighting. That direct relationship preserves the quality, dimming, color tuning, and scene behavior the fixture was designed to deliver.
Control4 can then provide a larger layer of orchestration in a compatible integrated home—allowing selected Lutron scenes to participate alongside audio, shades, climate, security, and other systems. HTE engineers the relationship so that the essential lighting system remains dependable while integration adds convenience.

We begin with arrival, architecture, planting, views from inside, circulation, entertaining, and dark-sky restraint. Fixture placement and scene intent come before the control interface.
Standalone first
The core lighting system should perform reliably on its own. Integration with Control4 should enhance the experience, not become a fragile requirement for the property to function.
Supported for the long term
Outdoor systems live through salt air, irrigation, landscaping, temperature swings, and seasonal use. Documentation, service access, programming standards, and ongoing support are part of the design.

VIA’s solid-brass fixture family is designed for moisture, salt air, ultraviolet exposure, and temperature extremes. Available forms include path lights, directional and fixed uplights, and tiki-torch configurations.

What is VIA Intelligent Outdoor Lighting?
VIA is an outdoor lighting platform that combines Coastal Source solid-brass fixtures with native Lutron intelligent light sources. Depending on the specification, VIA can use Rania natural-white lighting or Ketra tunable-white and color-capable lighting. HTE designs the fixture layout, control strategy, programming, and relationship to the rest of the home.
Can VIA work with Control4?
VIA is natively controlled through compatible Lutron systems. In a properly engineered smart home, Control4 can interact with the Lutron system so selected lighting scenes can be recalled as part of broader routines involving audio, shades, climate, security, or entertainment. Compatibility and the desired user experience should be confirmed during design.
Does every outdoor fixture need to be intelligent?
No. A refined design may use VIA only where tunable white light, color, or coordinated scenes create meaningful value—such as the arrival sequence, terrace, pool, specimen trees, or views seen prominently from inside. Conventional fixtures can remain the more appropriate choice elsewhere.
Can VIA be added to an existing landscape lighting system?
Possibly. HTE evaluates the existing wiring, transformers, fixture locations, controls, network, and overall system condition. Some properties support a selective upgrade. Others need infrastructure repairs or a broader redesign before intelligent fixtures can perform reliably.
Is VIA appropriate for coastal Hamptons properties?
The solid-brass fixtures are designed for demanding outdoor exposure, including moisture, salt air, UV, and temperature extremes. Long-term performance still depends on correct installation, drainage, sealed connections, voltage planning, nighttime aiming, and scheduled care.
Should I choose Ketra or Rania outdoors?
Rania is well suited to natural white light that becomes warmer or cooler across the evening. Ketra adds a wider tunable range and expressive color. HTE selects each source around the intended scene, finishes, planting, architecture, and how restrained or flexible the homeowner wants the nightscape to be.
