Where do these numbers come from?
These ranges are built from the last two years of real Home Technology Experts proposals and installations across the Hamptons and Manhattan — more than 120 projects and over 20,000 individually priced line items. We group that history by system and by level of finish, so your estimate reflects how homes like yours are genuinely specified and priced, and we refresh it as new projects close. It's our own pricing data — not an industry average or a generic guess.
Why a range instead of a single price?
No two homes are alike. Room sizes, wiring routes, finish materials, and product choices all move the final figure. A range reflects that honestly up front — a precise number this early would only be precise by accident. Your tailored proposal, prepared after we understand your home, is where the exact figure comes from.
What's included, and what isn't?
The range covers equipment and installation for the systems you select. It's shown pre-tax and excludes pre-wiring (the low-voltage rough-in done during construction), owner-supplied televisions, and final shade fabrics, which are chosen with your designer. We itemize all of it in your proposal.
How close is it to the real number?
Close enough to plan and budget around with confidence — we test the model against our own completed Hamptons and NYC projects to keep it accurate. It isn't a contract price; room sizes, product choices, and site conditions set the final figure, and the more detail you share, the tighter the range gets. When you're ready, we'll turn it into a precise, tailored proposal.
