Integrating Robust AV Solutions While Preserving Design Integrity

Amagansett, NY — Smart Home Retrofit for a Finished Amagansett Spec Home

HTE turned a finished spec home with limited infrastructure into a discreet, high-performance residence without compromising the architecture.

This 8,800 sq. ft. Amagansett residence by Grossman Builders began as a beautifully finished spec home with limited technology infrastructure. Home Technology Experts was brought in to expand the home’s capabilities without disrupting the architecture, finishes, or design intent.

The homeowners wanted a system that felt simple to use but powerful behind the scenes. The final scope included a dedicated media room, indoor and outdoor audio/video, lighting control, motorized shades, surveillance, and secure access control.

Because the home was already complete, HTE approached the project with a careful retrofit strategy. Sonos-based surround systems, Dynaudio hi-fi speakers, and Lutron RadioRA3 lighting controls were selected and installed to perform well while remaining visually discreet. Custom motorized blackout treatments and warm-dim lighting added comfort, privacy, and atmosphere throughout the home.

Outside, HTE coordinated with Terra Landscape Design and Hamptons Landscape Lighting to create an integrated outdoor experience with Leon and Origin Acoustics speakers, a Samsung Terrace TV, and landscape lighting that complements the architecture and planting design.

Discreet Luma surveillance cameras and DoorBird access control added security and convenience without introducing unnecessary visual clutter.

The result is a finished Amagansett home that now performs like a fully planned smart residence: comfortable, secure, easy to control, and carefully integrated into the design.
