Seeing Screens in Direct Sunlight
Hamptons traffic means summer is here and it is time to bask in the sun. But what happens when you’re enjoying the outdoors in direct sunlight and you get a text or need to make a call? It can be difficult to read electronic screens during the summer, but these tips can help.
Used Polarized Sunglasses
Not only do polarized shades protect your eyes, they help you read electronic screens.
Some devices have coatings designed to reduce glare, which hinders their compatibility with polarized glasses. If this is the case, when you look at your device all you will see is a black screen. First make sure your device is on and then try slightly rotating it left or right up to 90 degrees. This should correct the issue.
Wear Dark Clothing
We know white is a staple of the “Hampton’s Casual” wardrobe, but it makes seeing your screen a bit more difficult. White and light colored clothing reflect sunlight more than darker clothing which absorbs it.
Use Technology to Your Advantage
We avoided tips such as “go inside” or “view your screen in the shade” and while using tech to your advantage may seem obvious, it’s often overlooked. If you have trouble seeing your device in the sun, use existing features to make life easier.
TAKE IT OFF OF AUTO AND TURN UP THE SCREEN’S BRIGHTNESS
WHEN POSSIBLE USE VOICE ACTIVATION AND DEVICE READING OPTIONS
IF YOU HAVE PERIPHERALS SUCH AS CAR SYNC, BLUETOOTH, OR A WEARABLE TECH THAT IS EASIER TO SEE, USE THEM INSTEAD OF THE DEVICE ITSELF.
