MYTH 1: I CAN ONLY GET ROLLER SHADES

This myth comes from the fact that roller shades are probably the most popular type of powered window treatment. However, this is not true. There is an amazing array of styles from which to choose. Like honeycomb shades? Romans? Vertical blinds, or wood and metal ones? These are all available. And if you like traditional drapes – even heavy ones – you can have those too. You and your designer might even get weary from perusing all the styles, fabrics, and colors available.

MYTH 2: THEY CAN’T DO BIG WINDOWS

We’ll admit there may be some gigantic walls of glass that may present a challenge, but today's motorized window treatments have met few windows they couldn't dress. Bay windows? No problem. Large windows 12 feet wide? Piece of cake. Skylights, clerestory, and angled windows? Check, check, and check. You might be surprised at the plethora of solutions for motorizing every window covering.

MYTH 3: MOTORIZED SHADES ARE INDOOR-RATED TECHNOLOGY

Some motorized shade solutions are only for indoor use. However, several manufacturers offer and specialize in outdoor shading. With outdoor powered shades, you can extend the outdoor season in the Hamptons a few more weeks with cable-guided shades that can encase your patio from wind, bugs, and even rain blowing in. What’s more, like all powered window treatments, they can integrate with a smart home system to coordinate with your outdoor lighting, sound system, water features, and more.

We hope we have convinced you that you shouldn’t shy away from motorized window treatments for any window. There’s a solution for just about any window in your home, plus your outdoor patio too. To learn more about this essential smart home feature, contact us here. We’d love to work with you!
